Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety and Wellbeing (S&W) Partner to join the team on a fixed term basis. 
 
The S&W Partner will support the effective management of a range of day-to-day operational safety and wellbeing matters ensuring services deliver maximum value to our internal customers and the organisation as a whole. The role will provide specialist advice and support on a broad range of safety matters including risk assessments, incident reporting and investigations, and injury management and wellbeing assistance.  It will also involve targeted management of projects including policy and procedure development. 

Reporting to the S&W Lead, this is a full-time temporary role (until 9/5/2025) based at Civic Centre. Hybrid working arrangements and flexible work options can be considered for the right candidate.

This is a Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $95,488.69 - $104,288.00 (depending on experience, pro-rata) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will need to thrive

The key competencies required for this role are:

  • Excellent written communication skills with the proven ability to prepare high quality reports and documentation
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and some relevant experience OR lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience
  • Local government experience in a S&W Partner and/or RTW capacity (desirable)
  • Experience in psychological health and safety (desirable)
